Moving right along... here are the parts for the ailerons.

Started like the flaps, attaching the Drive Plate to the ribs.

Drilled with 40's then up to 30's.. deburred, primed and riveted.

Done with this assembly.

Made these parts a while back from the "angle-kit" Sonex sells. They are basically used as spacers on the Counterbalance Assembly.

Clamp together, then drill some holes and rivet.. The outside dimensions between the walls needs to be 1".

Done!

The all dreaded Lead Counterbalance weight. People say two things about this; It is tough to cut in half. And it is hard to drill through. We will see very soon!

Using the bandsaw and a Bi-metal blade. Not bad really, you do need to stop and wax the blade every 2 inches or so because the blades builds up with lead. Feed it through very slowly!! Took about 10 min total time.

Not sure if I should dress the edges or not? I think Yes, Dad thinks wait to see how the final balancing goes. I might ask the e-group.

Finished tonight drilling holes in the hinges and deburring them... Next we will tackle the skin cut-outs.
