Ailerons
September 14, 2007
OK.. my last entry said we were going to start with the aileron skins next;  well I lied.  My dad seemed fascinated by the Counter-balance assembley so we proceeded with that.
Took the counter-balance plate and found the correct location on the ribs.
No pic, but we took two of the plates and clecod them together then we drilled these six holes (where the lead will go) to 3/16".
Next we took the (what I call the) "spacer assembly," and drilled it to the correct location on the Plate and Rib.
The "correct location" is even with the rib flanges on both sides.
After all that was drilled out to 30's and deburred, I cleaned and primed my parts.
Riveted all the pieces together.  Not a whole lot accomplished today. I had follow-up appts with the surgeon, and a few other iteme to take care of.  Next couple days will be spent with the wife and baby...
