Started work on the dreaded fiberglass tips. Cut the aft portion per plans. |

Here is where the fiberglass tips need to sandwich between the skin and this gold colored rib (called the "tip rib"). Long story short, it was NOT happening! The top leading edge was not even "thinking" about budging. So... Plan B was in order. |

Instead of sandwiching the fiberglass tips, I would just rivet these strips of .032" aluminum to the tip rib, and mount the fiberglass tips to these. |

In order for this method of installation to work, I need to trim more off of the nose. Here is my trim line. |

I used the cut-off wheel. Worked wonderful! |
