Last time I was still updrilling holes to #21.   Part way through I thought I better make sure I have an adequate way to dimple the Top Web for the #21 size hole.   So before I finished updrilling, I decided to do some dimpling with practice pieces.
WITHOUT dimpling, I drilled a #21 hole and placed a rivet in some scrap aluminum, the same size as the Top Web.
Next I placed a countersink in some .125" aluminum.  You can see some practice dimples I had already made earlier in the evening next to the rivet.
Placed rivet into both pieces.
Gave the rivet some VERY LIGHT shots with the rivet gun... no backing to the rivet at this point. Our goal is JUST to make a dimple in the Top Web using the rivet as our dimpler.
This method produces a nice solid dimple ( you can see on the Left).  The rivet is still sitting up (Proud)  some, but after riveting, it should sit down flush.
After making sure we had a way to dimple #21 holes, we finished updrilling the rest of the holes.  Did I mention there are A LOT OF HOLES?
