Deburring the Spar Caps wth electric debur tool.

Dad using the manual deburring tool.. Hey, he is the one that forgot to bring his electric deburring tool...

After deburring everything we shifted our focus a little. We made some "dry runs" on scrap aluminum, trying to find the correct countersink depth. Here is a pic of my practice piece. I went ahead and riveted these pieces together, which was very helpful to find out how the dimple will REALLY sit in the countersink. This also gave me some MUCH NEEDED riveting practice using the 3X gun.

This is the back side, the part I actually "hit" with the riveting gun. The bucking bar goes on the flush head side. Setting the guns pressure is very important before riveting, for these monster sized rivets (5/32) the pressure needs to be pretty high.

Cross-section view of the simulated piece. Looks like a very nice fit!

After finding a good depth/roundness to the countersink (8.19mm), we began to countersink using the Microstop Counter-sinking tool.

Most of the holes that needed countersunk were done. Still have a few on the Spar Caps and some larger countersinks (3/16") where a few screws go.
