Rudder
Here is my first shot at trying to Alodine some parts. I first sprayed the Alumi prep 33 on the part, scrubbed it with the maroon scotch brite pad, then rinsed in water. Next, I brushed on the Alodine and let soak for 1-3 min. Rinsed with water, then set out to dry.
The larger parts, including skins, will be cleaned with MEK, scrubbed with scotch brite pad, then sprayed with zinc oxide primer.

My first part riveted together.
This part kinda sucked! You need to find and drill the center rib location on the rudder. Even after reading other websites,  I could not get myself to commit on drilling a hole.  Here is what I did: 1) Placed center line on all rib flanges.2) Found rib location on the skin and made a line. 3) Drilled 2 holes in the leading edge skin where the center rib will go.  4) Placed rib in the skin and found my leading edge center line (through the 2 holes I just made). Idea being... this will flush the rib to correct leading edge location. 3) Drilled and cleco'd both leading edge holes.  3) Made 2 holes in top of the skin. One hole in leading edge, the other hole in the trailing edge.  4) Found my center line on rib via the 2 top pilot holes. drilled and cleco'd both of theses in place. . 5) Drilled and cleoc'd the rest of the holes. 7) flipped over and did the other side.   Anyway... it took ME a long time to do this! Measured everything about 10 times beore drilling any holes.  As you can see, I did manage to get the top rib cleco'd in place as well. It was not near as bad as the middle rib.  My amatuer status showing its colors with this step.  Hopefully I will improve!
