Vertical Stabilizer
It has been a while since we worked on the VS. Today I just finished rvieting most of the horizontal stabilizer and was debating on whether I should start the elevator, or continue on the VS (since all my parts are now here). I decided I will continue to work on the VS until it is finished.
I ordered the 2 bottom pieces from Sonex (again), and had to make the 2 top pieces (again).  Actually, I did not have any of the right channel left over and had to order that from Sonex as well (2nd piece down).  About a $200 mistake! Key reminder: IF SOMETHING DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT, STOP! SLEEP ON IT IF YOU HAVE TO...  DO NOT DEVELOP TUNNEL VISION AND PROCEED TO DRILL HOLES!
This time around everything was going wonderful... then I discovered the holes that I drilled in the clip and spacer, previously, were now "off" on the new piece.  We tried to make it work, without messing up my new piece, but it just was not happening!  I will need to make a new clip.. no big deal until I discovered I have no more angle this size... Darn! I will need to order a piece, pay for shipping etc... This piece is getting to be really expensive!!
Besides the clip, everything else turned out wonderful. I up-drilled to #30 for the rivets, and 3/16" for the AN3 bolts.  Deburred.. and called it a night. I really wanted to prime and rivet everything together , but it was really late and it was a long day!
