Attach Blocks
Not much accomplished tonight. Went flying tonight and that took away from building. The time flying was needed, the winds have been blowing lately so I have not been flying in a couple weeks. To say the least, it was nice!  Back to building...   We did start on the attach block assemblies. The thick bar of aluminum (top of pic) is what we use to make the blocks from. The angles we already made a lot earlier. We did make two spacers out of 0.060" aluminum plate, but I have no pics of that.  When finished, this assembly gets put on the main spar, and pretty much is what mounts the wing to the fueslage.
Holes measured and center punched. . There will be four total blocks that need made.
Going through this thick of block, we used the drill press for this operation. Eveything must be very straight.
The action shot.
Next, we moved on over to the bandsaw and made our cuts.
Per plans, one corner on each block needs a chamfer. Turned the bandsaw table to 45 deg. and went to town!
Cleaned up the edges and called it a night!  We will assemble these on the angles tomorrow.
